According to multiple reports, the Cubs acquired RHP Jacob Turner from the Marlins for two minor league pitchers. The Cubs have not announced the corresponding moves to add Turner to the 40-man roster or the active roster. And the names of the two Low Class-A pitchers have not been announced. Iowa moved back into first place behind two excellent pitching performances from Eric Jokisch and Dan Straily and the big bats of Kris Bryant, Jorge Soler and Mike Olt. Tennessee picked up two wins with Addison Russell staying hot at the plate and Felix Pena delivering a shutout performance. Kane County just keeps putting wins on the board. The final month of the minor league season started out on a good note for couple of the Cubs’ affiliates and many of the prospects in the system. C.J. The reshuffling that happens at this time of the season in the minors had an effect throughout the system as several teams struggled. Rehabbing players Josh Conway and Danny Lockhart had excellent performances for Boise. Kane County lost three straight despite good pitching from Duane Underwood, Daury Torrez, and Jen-Ho Tseng. Iowa received “big flies” form Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Chris Valaika, Logan Watkins, and Eli Whiteside. It was an abbreviated start to the week as many of the minor league teams were enjoying some time off during the All-Star break. The teams that were in play seemed to take it on the chin as Tennessee dropped a pair despite four RBI from Jae-Hoon Ha.
