Third baseman Jeimer Candelario, Outfielder Mark Zagunis Promoted to Triple-A Iowa The Cubs made several moves down on the farm on Wednesday afternoon that included well-deserved promotions for two of the top prospects in the organization. 3B Jeimer Candelario and OF Mark Zagunis were promoted from Double-A Tennessee to Triple-A Iowa. Cubs Prospect Trey Martin Wins Gold Glove Award
Minor League Baseball and Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. announced Monday Minor League Baseball’s recipients of the 2015 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. Cubs’ prospect outfielder Trey Martin won the Gold Glove for his excellence in center field. Martin started the season with Low-A South Bend and spent a majority of the year with High-A Myrtle Beach. Twenty-five games over .500! That’s the record of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans as they went home run happy over the weekend, with Ben Carhart leading the way. Iowa also caught the home run bug as five members left the yard this weekend, with a game-winner by Adron Chambers.
