Todd Hollandsworth played two seasons (2004-05) for the Cubs and he knows by first-hand experience what draws players like Jason Heyward, John Lackey and Ben Zobrist to sign on as free agents. Ron Coomer Will Reportedly Join Pat Hughes in the Cubs Radio Booth

According to a report from Robert Feder, WGN Radio and the Cubs will announce on Friday they have hired Ron Coomer to replace Keith Moreland in the Cubs' radio booth. Ron Coomer agreed to a two-year contract to be the Cubs’ color analyst alongside the great Pat Hughes. Ron Coomer has been working pre and post-game shows for the Minnesota Twins on Fox Sports North. WGN Radio was expected to announce Keith Moreland’s replacement by the start of the Winter Meetings but they have not made a decision yet on who will help call Cubs’ games with the great Pat Hughes. While the Cubs continue working on details to restore Wrigley Field with the city, neighborhood and the rooftop club owners, the team is also dealing with media rights between 720 WGN and WGN TV. WGN and the Cubs are in the process of finding a replacement for Keith Moreland in the Cubs’ radio booth alongside the great Pat Hughes. Multiple outlets confirmed the Sun-Times report that the front office is looking to hire Bill Mueller to be the Cubs’ new hitting coach. Mueller would be one of possible two hitting coaches on Rick Renteria’s staff. The front office knows they cannot miss on what will be the team’s third hitting coach in three seasons. According to a report from Robert Feder, there are eight former Cubs on the shortlist to replace Keith Moreland in WGN’s booth. 720 WGN is on the "fast track" to find a replacement for Moreland to call games alongside of the Voice of the Cubs, Pat Hughes.
