The Cubs completed sweeps week against the Pirates and Nationals with a perfect 7-0 record that was capped off with Sunday’s walk-off in the 13th inning at Wrigley. Joe Maddon’s team quieted a lot of the critics that said the Cubs were a soft 17-6 before last week because of the teams they played. It appears the Pirates woke up Zorilla in the seventh inning of the opener at PNC Park. Ben Zobrist has been quite the force at the plate since Kyle Lobstein hit him with a pitch leading off the seventh inning of Monday’s game. Zobrist is 6-for-15 over the last four games with a double, four home runs, two walks, six runs scored and 12 RBI. Cubs expected to attend Tim Lincecum’s showcase this Friday in Scottsdale According to reports from Mark Gonzales and Patrick Mooney, the Cubs will attend Tim Lincecum’s showcase Friday at Scottsdale Stadium. The Cubs will be one of at least 20 teams on hand to watch Lincecum throw. Tim Lincecum is coming off arthroscopic hip surgery, is a free agent and looking to sign with the team.
