MiLB.com released its Cubs Organizational All-Star Team. And it is headlined by four of the top position-player prospects in the system. Ian Happ, Eloy Jimenez, Jeimer Candelario and Donnie Dewees stayed on their individual player plans this past season. Cubs re-sign C/3B/1B Gioskar Amaya and RHP Nick Sarianides to minor league contracts The Cubs re-signed two players to minor league contracts. C/3B/1B Gioskar Amaya and RHP Nick Sarianides will return to the organization for the 2017 season on minor league deals. Gioskar Amaya, 23, began the 2016 season with High-A Myrtle Beach and finished the year with Double-A Tennessee after a promotion on June 24. Chesny Young Denied Southern League Batting Title
Cubs prospect Chesny Young finished the season Monday with the highest batting average among qualified players in the Southern League. Young hit .303 and appeared to win his second straight batting title. Young led the Carolina League in hitting last season. Eugene looked to add to their record season on the pitching of Dylan Cease and Manuel Rondon.
