Cubs Headlines: Roster Moves, News, Notes and Rumors from the Holiday Weekend

December 28, 2014 11:30 pm By Neil 2 Comments

The Cubs were rather busy leading up to Christmas with four roster moves and officially adding David Ross to the roster. The Cubs newest catcher discussed the team, his role and Jon Lester the following morning on MLB Network Radio. Unfortunately the biggest news of the weekend concerned Starlin Castro as he was tied to another shooting in the Dominican Republic. December 23, 2014 12:05 am By Neil 45 Comments

The Cubs reportedly are not in a rush and have not set a timeframe for trading Welington Castillo. But with three other catchers on the 40-man roster and the team agreeing to terms with David Ross a deal that would include Castillo should happen in the near future. Theo Epstein admitted last week the team was listening to offers for Castillo and the interest in the 27-year old catcher picked up after the Cubs acquired Miguel Montero. The Phillies and Diamondbacks were the first two teams … [Read more...]
