January 2, 2013 12:15 am By Neil 6 Comments

With the holidays in the review mirror, it should be a rather busy couple of weeks for the Chicago Cubs leading up to the caravan and Cubs Convention. Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer still have to clear a spot on the 40-man roster to officially add Edwin Jackson and Carlos Villanueva to the team … the 40-man roster currently stands at 39 players. Both players reportedly agreed to terms on contracts with the team but have yet to be announced. The Cubs are still looking to add an outfielder to the … [Read more...]

More Than Just A Name

March 7, 2008 2:00 am By Raul Barraza Leave a Comment

It's Friday and time for the latest from the CCO Feedback column. Raul Barraza does not like the idea of possibly renaming the old ballpark at 1060 West Addison.... I never thought I would see the day Wrigley Field was anything other than Wrigley Field, but Sam Zell is looking to selling the naming rights. He's a businessman and has every right to maximize his return on his investment but as a Cubs fan and baseball fan, this makes me feel worse than the words "Steve Bartman." … [Read more...]

Is it Tomorrow?

February 5, 2008 1:00 am By Neil Leave a Comment

Welcome to Super Tuesday and Happy Fat Tuesday.... For the last nine days, updates from the mainstream media on the Erik Bedard deal have indicated a trade between the Mariners and Orioles was close to being completed. Depending on which outlet you read or which radio report you listen to, a deal will happen either tomorrow or in the next few days. While the Cubs appear out of the running for the talented southpaw, Jim Hendry and the Cubs should be paying attention to the actions of the Orioles … [Read more...]
