According to multiple reports following Thursday’s game, Emilio Bonifacio is on his way back to Chicago to be examined by team doctors to determine the severity of the injury he suffered to his right rib cage. Emilio Bonifacio had to be helped off the field by trainer P.J. Mainville following an at bat in the first inning of Thursday’s game. The GM Meetings have come and gone and while the Cubs did not make any moves or signings this week, they reportedly had multiple conversations with teams and agents and tried to lay the groundwork for the rest of the off-season.
