The Chicago Cubs selected right-handed pitcher Mason Tobin from the Angels organization with the seventh pick in the Rule 5 Draft. The Cubs traded him shortly after to the Texas Rangers for cash considerations. Tobin was the Angels 16th round pick in the 2007 draft and missed a majority of 2009 and 2010 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. Tobin pitched only three innings in High-A ball in 2009.
