Cubs announce Minor League Managers, Coaching Staffs and Field Coordinators for the 2017 season The Cubs announced Friday the organization’s minor league managers, coaching staffs and field coordinators for the 2017 season. Willson Contreras played a complete game Monday in Iowa’s 11-0 thumping of Albuquerque. Willson Contreras went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and five RBI. The I-Cubs scored 10 runs in the sixth inning with the big hit coming off the bat of Contreras, a grand slam over the wall in right center. For as good as Kris Bryant was during his Rookie of the Year campaign, Bryant was a different hitter outside of Wrigley Field. Bryant batted .275/.369/.488 with 31 doubles, five triples and 26 home runs for a .858 OPS last season. At Wrigley, Bryant hit .311/.408/.629 with 14 doubles, four triples and 21 home runs for a 1.037 OPS. On the road, just .243/.333/.360 with 17 doubles, a triple and five home runs for a .693 OPS. Javier Baez played his fourth game of the year Sunday and had his best day at the plate. Baez started at second base and hit clean up in Iowa’s 7-3 victory over Oklahoma City.
