It was a busy weekend and the pitching staff of Eugene led by Dylan Cease, Bryan Hudson, and Manuel Rondon dominated. South Bend’s starters Preston Morrison, Casey Bloomquist, and Kyle Miller were also in top form. Erick Leal and Jake Stinnett pitched well for Myrtle Beach, and Jen-Ho Tseng and Paul Blackburn lead the way for Tennessee. The Iowa offense flexed some of its muscle with John Andreoli, Jeimer Candelario, Logan Watkins and Mark Zagunis leading the way. And South Bend continued to roll with Eloy Jimenez and Ian Rice. Cubs Weekend Headlines: Bats Got Hot in the ATL, a Trade, a Signing, Roster Moves, Lots of Drafting and All-Stars
Wow, what an incredibly busy weekend for the Chicago Cubs, and that was just the off the field news. On the field, Joe Maddon’s team took two of three from the Braves in the Cubs final series at Turner Field. The Cubs had a Homer Party on Saturday afternoon, and there is video to prove it.
