The Cubs latest addition to the pitching staff made the rounds on the airwaves Wednesday after the trade between the Cubs and Mariners was made official. Bruce Levine broke the story of the trade that sent Ronny Cedeno and Garrett Olson to Seattle for Aaron Heilman....a possibility he first mentioned several weeks back. It's Official....According to multiple reports the Cubs traded Ronny Cedeno and Garrett Olson to Seattle for Aaron Heilman. The Cubs acquired Garrett Olson from the Orioles, along with Henry Williamson, for Felix Pie on January 18th. Peavy to the Cubs Rumors Still Flying

The Jake Peavy rumors continue to change on a daily basis. While both camps have been relatively quiet on the subject since December, events over the last week have fueled speculation from the mainstream media. Bruce Levine reported on Saturday that the package the Cubs would send to San Diego for Jake Peavy would include Josh Vitters, Welington Castillo, Garrett Olson, Kevin Hart and Jeff Stevens. The Cubs begin their 2009 Cactus League schedule in 31 days against the Dodgers at Fitch Park....and Jim Hendry is not done 'tweaking his roster'. On the same day the Sun-Times mentioned the Cubs have had discussions with Randy Wolf and Braden Looper, Bruce Levine threw out a couple of new names on Saturday morning....and some old ones as well. When the Cubs traded Mark DeRosa for three minor league pitchers they raised eyebrows. When they dealt Felix Pie for Garrett Olson, a pitcher the Padres were interested in back in December, and another pitching prospect...the Cubs stoked the fire. The 24th Annual Cubs Convention concluded on Sunday with two final sessions, "Meet Cubs Business Management" and "Down on the Farm"....but it did not go out without a bang. According to a report from the Sun-Times, the Cubs have traded Felix Pie to the Baltimore Orioles for two pitching prospects. The left-hander is believed to be Garrett Olson.
