2012 Cubs Convention Schedule and Attendees
The schedule for the 27th Annual Cubs Convention was released Sunday night and Monday morning. The three-day event begins Friday afternoon at the Hilton Chicago. The Cubs' new front office will be in attendance and the Saturday morning session with Theo Epstein figures to have the biggest crowd of the weekend. Don't call it a comeback!! Holy wow. It was fun to be a Cubs fan last night. Yes, you read that right. It was fun to be a Cubs fan. It reminded me of 1989. The Cubs were down 9-0 to the Houston Astros. The game was out of reach and a run away from the "mercy rule." And then some Walton, Smith, Grace and McClendon, and the next thing I know, Jerome Walton is scoring the 10th run in the 10th inning to win 10-9. What was the score last night? Right, 10-9. The Chicago Cubs baseball team is not good. Yes, I know, I am very observant. Watching this team lose five of six games to the Pirates and Reds caused the type of emotional pain normally reserved for the end of a romantic relationship. That is how bad it felt.
