Pitching remains a priority for the Cubs as the front office continues their pursuit of Masahiro Tanaka. But if they are unable to sign Tanaka do not look for the Cubs to turn their attention to Matt Garza, Ubaldo Jimenez or Ervin Santana. The Cubs will likely look at re-signing Scott Baker or another free agent like Jason Hammel to add a starter to the roster. The opening of Spring Training ends a very emotional off-season for Cubs fans. We lost a legend, and a hero returned. There was a controversial trade, and free agent signings kept us buzzing. And, as always, there is the promise of youth.
