Buster Olney continued his rankings of the team units Wednesday. And the Cubs topped Olney’s list of the best infields in the game. Olney based the Cubs No. 1 ranking on input he received from evaluators and “for overall play, not just defense or offense.” Anthony Rizzo finished fourth in voting for the NL MVP. The Daily CCO: Seven Cubs File for Salary Arbitration, Caravan Kicks Off and Other News

Tuesday was the deadline for players to file for salary arbitration. 156 players across the league filed prior to the deadline, and seven of those players are on the Cubs’ big league roster. Jake Arrieta, Chris Coghlan, Justin Grimm, Hector Rondon, Pedro Strop, Adam Warren and Travis Wood filed for arbitration.
