The Cubs wrapped up the seven-game homestand in dramatic fashion Monday with a 2-1 win over the Indians in the make-up game thanks to an excellent outing from Jon Lester and the walk-off oppo blast from Kris Bryant. The Cubs are 21 games over .500 after completing the first 20-4 stretch for the franchise since 1945. Cubs Sign OF Kwang-Min Kwon

According to a report from Baseball America, the Cubs signed South Korean OF Kwang-Min Kwon. The Cubs were believed to have a deal in place with the 17-year old on July 2 but reports were not confirmed until Sunday night. OF Kwang-Min Kwon signed for $1.2 million. The 17-year old outfielder (Dec. 12, 1997) is 6-foot-2, 194 pounds. Kwon hits and bats from the left side. Cubs Agree to Terms with Six International Prospects

The July 2 International signing period has begun and the Cubs have agreed to terms with several of the players the team has been linked to in recent months. According to reports from Jesse Sanchez, the Cubs have agreed to sign six International free agents. Cubs Expected to be Very Active During 2015-16 International Signing Period

It’s July 2, the start of the 2015-16 International signing period and the Cubs are expected to be very active on the International free agent market. The Cubs were limited to signing players for $250,000 or less during the 2014-15 International signing period that ended on June 15. Cubs Considered Favorites to Sign Five of Top 30 International Prospects

The Cubs are expected to be big spenders on International free agents when the new signing period begins on July 2. Kiley McDaniel linked the Cubs to several of the top players in this year’s class last month. Based on the figures McDaniel reported, the Cubs are going to spend quite a bit more than their International signing bonus pool. Cubs Reportedly Set to Spend Heavily in International Market

Reports have suggested for several months the Cubs are planning on overspending in the International free agent market that begins July 2. The Cubs were restricted during the current signing period that ends June 15 due to exceeding their International signing bonus pool by more than 15 percent during the 2013-14 signing period.
