Day two at the Winter Meetings in Dallas turned out to be 'The Pujols Watch'. With the free-agent slugger on the market, if Albert Pujols were to sign with a team other than the Cardinals, it would have a ripple effect throughout baseball. Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer and the Cubs' contingent spent the first official day of the Winter Meetings talking to agents and teams trying to gauge the market ... but according to Epstein, they are not close on any deals right now. The most important news to come out of Dallas on Monday morning was the election of Ron Santo to the Hall of Fame. Santo received 15 of 16 votes and will finally take his rightful place in Cooperstown. Santo will be enshrined on July 22. Baseball's Winter Meetings officially begin on Monday but many are already in Dallas getting an early jump on the week ahead ... and that includes the Chicago Cubs' new front office. Could the Cubs' new front office be planning major changes to the roster they inherited? Jim Bowden reported over the weekend that the Cubs "have been very aggressive with a wide range of free agents and have been in on trade talks with at least a dozen clubs."
