Cubs have legitimate interest in Wade Davis, Brad Ziegler and Jerry Blevins while monitoring Kenley Jansen Jed Hoyer said Monday at the Winter Meetings, “It’s safe to say we’re kicking the tires on any pitching that’s available.” The front office has not hidden the fact they would like to add starting pitchers and relievers to the big league roster and the upper level of the minor league system this off-season. Baseball’s Winter Meetings officially get underway today. There was a lot of buzz and a big-name signing Sunday as the baseball world made its way to the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor. Friday was a busy day throughout the game as baseball prepared for the Winter Meetings that begin Sunday. The Cubs made five roster moves and tendered contracts, as expected, to all four of their arbitration eligible players for next season.
