The Cubs took the next step in the process Tuesday by winning the NLDS and now Joe Maddon’s team awaits the winner of the Dodgers-Mets series on Thursday. Counting the five post-season games, the Cubs are 50-20 since July 27 and have lost one game since Sept. 28. The Cubs took down the Cardinals and advanced to the National League Championship Series with Tuesday’s 6-4 victory at Wrigley Field. Joe Maddon’s team was able to celebrate winning a post-season series at Wrigley Field for the first time in franchise history. Joe Maddon posted his starting lineup for Game 4 of the National League Division Series. Starlin Castro is at second base and Javier Baez is starting at shortstop, batting ninth. The Cubs have not provided an update on Addison Russell, but he is not in the lineup. The Cubs took a 2-to-1 lead in the best of five NLDS on Monday night. And on a night the hottest pitcher in the game was off, the offense picked up Jake Arrieta and outslugged the Cardinals.
