Javier Baez and Kyle Schwarber to compete in the upcoming Home Run Derby at Nationals Park Major League Baseball made it official Wednesday night and announced Javier Baez and Kyle Schwarber will participate in the Home Run Derby on Monday at Nationals Park. Baez is the starting second baseman for the NL squad. Javy will play in the exhibition game on Tuesday. Schwarber will now be part of the All-Star festivities. Major League Baseball literally and figuratively hit one, actually several, out of the park Monday night. The revamped Home Run Derby is widely being viewed as a success and the rules that were altered at seemingly the last minute due to the pending weather tweaked The Derby even more and has made the annual event a must see for fans of the game again. Hello again, everybody. Wow, that would have been one heck of a game to have on Wednesday night, but with the way the Cardinals have been going, splitting four games almost feels like a sweep.
