Saturday’s second session was Meet Cubs Baseball Management. Josh Liss and Ron Coomer hosted the hour-long discussion with Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer and assistant General Managers Randy Bush and Shiraz Rehman. Tom, Laura and Todd Ricketts spent the first hour talking about the year that was, Wrigley Field and answering questions from fans in the packed ballroom. The 30th Cubs Convention is just a month away (Jan. 16-18, 2015) and will feature more than 75 Cubs players, coaches, alumni and prospects. The team released a few of the details for the annual gathering on Tuesday. The team appears to be freshening up the event that has been referred to as the unofficial start of the baseball season. Crane Kenney addressed and fielded questions last Friday during meetings with the season ticket holders about the status of the team’s media rights deal. Kenney said the team was “in extra innings” on its television rights negotiations for 2015 and beyond.
