The MLB trade deadline is past and most fantasy leagues trade deadlines are coming up. Time to see the fall-out from the MLB trades have had on your team. Some teams trade players to open up spots (and get back more prospects) for young prospects to be able to come up and play, which leads to the prospects are coming! Which players have gained and lost value in fantasy baseball because of being traded to a different situation or having someone traded for or away that changed their … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Trade Deadline Week Fifteen
The All-Star week made fantasy baseball a 10-day week which makes for some big scores on the scoreboard. For my best of last week, I did just use the seven days of the last week and not the fantasy week. But now we are in the stretch run as teams make their final trades (and lots of them) and sprint to the finish line and hope to make the playoffs to continue their season. This is a fun one, The All-Adam Duvall Team. I own Duvall and hope that he gets hot when it counts, but just like … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: First Half Awards and Review
CCO Fantasy Baseball: First Half Awards and Review As we get into the second half and I am on vacation and the CCO leagues like many leagues are in a 10 day week to start the second half, let’s review the first half and hand out some completely unofficial hardware. I included links to my positional reviews so you can compare what was thought then, with what we think now. AL MVP First Half – Josh Donaldson .304/.418/.598/1.017 - 5.5 WAR, 23 HR, 63 RBI, 80 R Josh Donaldson was projected to … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Fantasy All-Stars Week Fourteen
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Fantasy All-Stars Week Fourteen The All-Star break sure could of come a little sooner for our Cubs who have a great need for a break and to come back at the end of the week with the confidence they had at the beginning of the year. Really glad they won the last game at least and don’t have the losing streak hanging over their heads when they come back on Friday. Let’s face it, forget how they got here, look at the standings and smile. The Cubs are in good shape and just … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Thirteen
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Thirteen Who is the next great prospect to grab (if he is still available?) Here comes the Judge? The five on the verge are Tyler Glasnow, Trea Turner (Danny Espinosa has been on fire), Alex Bregman, Jose Berrios and Hunter Renfroe. Ian Happ is in the five on the periphery, but I just can’t see him getting the call (I also wasn’t expecting all the injuries that led to Jeimer Candelario getting the call) and at most a September call-up. But I am not sure they can … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Twelve
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Twelve Slumping studs is a tough one for your fantasy team. You likely spent a top pick to add these great players and they are underperforming the rest of your team. But you can’t cut them, not in June. You can’t trade them and get any value, unless you do a trade for another slumping stud and just hope you get the better end of the deal. No you have to stick with them. I see some people cut these guys only to be kicking themselves when they have their hot … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Eleven
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Eleven I was out of town all weekend for a coaching conference that was a lot of fun, except for it being in Green Bay and I was staying one block from Lambeau Field. I was tempted to bring some Chicago Bears gear and walk around the area in it and thought twice about it. I deal with enough grief from fellow Cubs fans, can you imagine what would happen from Green Bay Packer fans?!?! I was looking at the top bats in fantasy points and as great as the Cubs bats … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Ten
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Ten I am starting to think I am never going to have time again. I thought a few weeks ago I was turning the corner on being able to watch games live and spend more time on baseball and chatting on the Talkin’ Live’s, but never realized every weekend was going to be graduation party after graduation party. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world. It is so much fun celebrating with these young men and women moving on to the next stage in life, especially the … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Nine
The top arms averaging over 20 pts per game are Clayton Kershaw, Jake Arrieta, Chris Sale, Stephen Strasburg, Madison Bumgarner, Johnny Cueto, Jose Fernandez, Noah Syndergaard and John Lackey. Most of these names were expected to have great seasons and one snuck in somehow. Let’s take a look at what it took to have these guys on your team on draft day in the CCO leagues. Clayton Kershaw – 29.5 pts/game - CCO League (1st Pick) CCO Fans (6th Pick), CCO Auction ($80) Jake Arrieta - 23.9 … [Read more...]
CCO Fantasy Baseball: Week Eight
The Top Five bats are Jose Altuve, David Ortiz, Mike Trout, Manny Machado and Robinson Cano. Please raise your hand if you had those five bats in the Top Five as we enter June. No one, not surprising. Let’s take a look at what it took to have these guys on your team on draft day in the CCO leagues. Jose Altuve – 219 points - CCO League (10th Pick) CCO Fans (9th Pick), CCO Auction ($67) David Ortiz - 217 points – CCO League (64th Pick), CCO Fans (72nd Pick), CCO Auction ($23) Mike … [Read more...]
