Cubs agree to terms with all 17 auto-renewal players (0-3 men) on contracts for upcoming season
The Cubs made it official on Sunday afternoon just after the beginning of the practice game against the White Sox in Mesa. The Cubs have agreed to 2019 contract terms with 17 players on their 40-man roster with zero-to-three years of Major League service. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
The following players have agreed to 2019 contract terms:
Right-handed pitchers: Adbert Alzolay, Oscar De La Cruz, Dillon Maples, Alec Mills, James Norwood, Jen-Ho Tseng, Duane Underwood Jr. and Rowan Wick
Left-handed pitchers: Randy Rosario and Justin Steele
Catchers: Victor Caratini, Willson Contreras and Taylor Davis
Infielder: David Bote
Outfielders: Albert Almora Jr., Ian Happ and Mark Zagunis
The big league minimum for the 2019 season is $555,000 and according to multiple reports, Willson Contreras ($684,000), Albert Almora, Jr. ($615,000) and Ian Happ ($603,500) will be paid more than the minimum this year.
