Cubs place RHP Brandon Morrow on 10-day DL … RHP Anthony Bass returns from disabled list following brief rehab stint with Iowa Cubs
The Cubs made several roster moves official on Thursday afternoon prior to the first of five with the Cardinals.
The Cubs placed RHP Brandon Morrow on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 18, with right biceps inflammation. With Morrow on the shelf again, the front office figures to step up the Cubs pursuit of LHP Zach Britton.
RHP Anthony Bass was activated from the 10-day DL.
Albert Almora Jr. and Carl Edwards Jr. were also added to the active roster. LHP Rob Zastryzny and INF David Bote were sent down to Iowa to make room on the 25-man roster for Almora Jr. and Edwards Jr.
