May 30, 2018 7:01 pm By Neil Leave a Comment

The Cubs announced Wednesday the results of the MRI on Yu Darvish’s right arm. Yu Darvish is on the 10-day DL with inflammation in his right triceps. Darvish had an MRI and the tests revealed no structural damage.

Darvish is supposed to begin a throwing program at some point this weekend or early next week according to multiple reports. Bruce Levine added the team has not given a timeframe on his return.

Mike Montgomery is scheduled to start on Saturday at Citi Field against the Mets.

The Cubs have LHP Jose Quintana, RHP Tyler Chatwood, LHP Mike Montgomery and LHP Jon Lester lined up for the four-game series against the Mets that begins Thursday night.

Yu Darvish has been a huge disappointment and is on the disabled list for the second time this season. Darvish is 1-3 in eight starts with a 4.95 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. In 40 innings, Darvish has allowed 24 runs, 22 earned runs, on 36 hits with 21 walks and 49 strikeouts.
