Addison Russell collected four hits, reached base five times in Cubs 8-1 win over the Reds
The Cubs everyday shortstop had a big night at the plate in the opener of the four-game series in Cincinnati. Addison Russell went 4-for-4 with a walk, run scored, RBI and stolen base . Russell recorded the fourth, four-hit game of his career and second of the season.
Russell continues to be linked to the Orioles in the rumored talks between the two front offices over Manny Machado. But Russell is putting things together at the plate and is showing the confidence he had during the Cubs’ World Series run in 2016.
