Cubs Invite 19 Non-Roster Players to Big League Camp

Cubs invite 19 non-roster players to Major League Spring Training … RHP Thomas Hatch, RHP David Garner, INF/OF Chesny Young, OF Jacob Hannemann and OF Bijan Rademacher among the players that received non-roster invites to big league camp

The Cubs have invited the following 19 non-roster players to Major League Spring Training, which begins Wednesday, Feb. 14 when pitchers and catchers have their first formal workout at the club’s Under Armour Performance Center in Mesa.

The following nine pitchers have been invited to major league camp: right-handed pitchers Anthony Bass, Craig Brooks, David Garner, Justin Hancock, Thomas Hatch and Williams Perez, as well as left-handed pitchers Alberto Baldonado, Daniel Camarena and Kyle Ryan.

Four infielders have been invited to major league camp: Ryan Court, Mike Freeman, Jason Vosler and Chesny Young.

Two outfielders have been invited to big league camp: Jacob Hannemann and Bijan Rademacher.

Four catchers have been invited to big league camp: Taylor Davis, Chris Gimenez, Ian Rice and Ali Solis.

Here’s the Cubs’ first roster of Spring Training:

Pitchers and Catchers report to Mesa on Feb. 13. The Cubs first full squad workout is Feb. 19. And the Cubs begin Cactus League play on Feb. 23 in Maryvale against the new-look Brewers.
