Cubs place RHP Wade Davis on paternity list … RHP Dylan Floro replaces Davis on active roster
Prior to the first of three with the Marlins at Wrigley Field, the Cubs placed RHP Wade Davis on the paternity list Monday afternoon. Davis is expected to miss one to three days, returning at least in time for the four-game series with the Rockies that begins Thursday.
To fill Davis’ spot on the active roster, the Cubs recalled RHP Dylan Floro from Triple-A Iowa.
Wade Davis, 31, is 2-0 with 12 saves, a 0.89 ERA (two earned runs in 20 1/3 innings) and a 0.73 WHIP in 21 relief outings this season. Davis has allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits with seven walks and 27 strikeouts.
The 26-year-old Floro returns for his third stint with the Cubs this season. He has made two relief appearances during his previous stays with the club, posting no record and an 8.53 ERA (six earned runs in 6 1/3 innings). Floro allowed one earned run in 4.1 innings on May 9 in Colorado before being charged with five runs in 2.0 innings on May 21 in closing out a 13-6 win against the Brewers. With Iowa this year, Floro has gone 2-1 with one save and a 4.01 ERA (11 earned runs in 24 2/3 innings) in 14 appearances, one as a starter.
