The Cardinals are considered the frontrunner to sign Dexter Fowler to a multi-year contract. According to Ken Rosenthal, the Cardinals met with Fowler’s agents Monday and made him “an initial offer.”
Rosenthal did not provide any details about the length or the amount of the Cardinals initial offer to Dexter Fowler.
Jon Heyman reported Monday that the Blue Jays offered Fowler a four-year contract in the $60 million range.
According to Heyman, Fowler is looking for $18 million per year on a multi-year deal.
The Cardinals and Blue Jays are at the top of a list of teams that are interested in signing Dexter Fowler this off-season. The Nationals, Rangers and Giants have also been linked to Fowler. Reports have suggested in recent days the Rangers and Giants are no longer in on Fowler.
