Cubs select contract of RHP Jose Rosario from Triple-A Iowa and add to 40-Man Roster
The Cubs made an addition to the 40-man roster among several other moves on Monday. The Cubs selected the contract of Jose Rosario from Triple-A Iowa and added the 26-year old right-hander to the reserve roster.
Jose Rosario started last season with High-A Myrtle Beach. After six weeks in the Carolina League, the Cubs sent Rosario to Double-A Tennessee on May 25. Rosario was promoted to Triple-A Iowa on July 5 where he finished out the season.
Rosario appeared in 12 games for the Pelicans and was 1-0 with a 1.65 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. With the Smokies, Rosario made 11 appearances out of the pen for Mark Johnson. Rosario did not have a decision and finished his time with a 2.76 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in the Southern League. Rosario was 1-1 in 22 games with a 2.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP for Triple-A Iowa.
In 45 games combined games, all in relief, Jose Rosario was 2-1 with 14 saves, a 2.50 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. Rosario allowed 15 runs on 52 hits with 17 walks and 47 strikeouts in 54 innings.

RHP Jose Rosario was added to the 40-man roster and C Tim Federowicz, RHP Dallas Beeler and RHP Andury Acevedo were outrighted off the 40-man roster to Triple-A Iowa.
