The Cubs are Going to The World Series

October 23, 2016 7:08 pm By Neil Leave a Comment

Cubs National League ChampionsThe Chicago Cubs are the National League Champions. Say it a couple of times. It’s got a great ring to it. The Chicago Cubs are the National League Champions. The Cubs were the best team in the Senior Circuit all season, now they have the pennant to prove it.

The Cubs play Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday night in Cleveland. Terry Francona made it official Sunday by announcing Corey Kluber as the Indians’ Game 1 starter. Joe Maddon will announce Monday the Cubs’ World Series rotation. Maddon is expected to have Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta pitch the first two games in Cleveland. Kyle Hendricks and John Lackey would get the ball in games three and four at Wrigley.

With the World Series two days away and no baseball until then, here are a few highlights from Game 6 and a reel from MLB.com on the Cubs’ postseason to this point.

The Cubs still have work to do and the ultimate goal to reach. And it will take four more Ws for the Cubs to have The Trophy to show for what has already been an incredible and unforgettable season.
