Cubs, Giants NLDS Pitching Matchups

Cubs, Giants pitching matchups set for games two, three and four of National League Division Series

nldslogo-2016-300Joe Maddon announced earlier this week Kyle Hendricks, Jake Arrieta and John Lackey would follow Jon Lester in his starting rotation for the best-of-five National League Division Series. Bruce Bochy waited until Friday afternoon to announce his three starters that would follow Johnny Cueto.

The Giants have decided to start Jeff Samardzija in Game 2 on Saturday at Wrigley against Kyle Hendricks.

Madison Bumgarner is set for Game 3 in San Francisco on Monday against Jake Arrieta.

Game 4, if necessary, will be lefty Matt Moore against John Lackey.

NLDS Probable Starting Pitchers

  • Game 2 – Saturday, Oct. 8 (7:08pm CDT) at Wrigley Field – RHP Kyle Hendricks vs. RHP Jeff Samardzija
  • Game 3 – Monday, Oct. 10 (8:38pm CDT) at AT&T Park – RHP Jake Arrieta vs. LHP Madison Bumgarner
  • Game 4 – Tuesday, Oct. 11 (7:40pm CDT) at AT&T Park – RHP John Lackey vs. LHP Matt Moore

Major League Baseball announced the start time for games three, four and five of the NLDS. Game 3 at AT&T Park on Monday will begin at 8:38pm CDT. Game 4 in San Francisco on Tuesday, if necessary, will start at 7:40pm CDT.

Game 5 at Wrigley on Thursday, Oct. 13 would start at 7:40pm CDT. Jon Lester and Johnny Cueto would be the likely starters will all hands on deck in an elimination game.

Start times for games four and five could change to 7:08pm CDT if the NLDS between the Dodgers and Nationals ends early.
