Game 6 of the National League Championship Series is tonight (7:08pm CDT) at Wrigley Field. Kyle Hendricks is facing Clayton Kershaw and Joe Maddon is going with a right-handed heavy lineup that includes Willson Contreras and Albert Almora Jr.
Willson Contreras is catching Hendricks, as expected, and batting sixth. Albert Almora Jr. makes his first start of the NLCS. Almora Jr. is batting eighth and playing right field.
Jason Heyward is not starting Game 6.
Maddon is using an outfield of Ben Zobrist (LF), Dexter Fowler (CF) and Albert Almora Jr. (RF).
Cubs batting order: Dexter Fowler CF, Kris Bryant 3B, Anthony Rizzo 1B, Ben Zobrist LF, Javier Baez 2B, Willson Contreras C, Addison Russell SS, Albert Almora Jr. RF, Kyle Hendricks P
Joe Maddon has a very good defensive team behind Hendricks. With all of the left-handed bats in the Dodgers’ lineup, Maddon had to have a strong right-side of the field.
The right-handed heavy lineup should generate more contact against Clayton Kershaw, especially with Almora Jr. batting eighth before Hendricks.
The Cubs will have David Ross, Miguel Montero, Chris Coghlan, Jorge Soler and Jason Heyward on the bench to start Game 6.
