The Cubs and Pirates play game three of four tonight (6:05pm CDT) in what will be Jake Arrieta’s last start of the regular season. Joe Maddon is going with his regular lineup, plus Chris Coghlan against Pirates’ rookie right-hander Jameson Taillon.
As expected Miguel Montero is catching Jake Arrieta tonight. This will be the second straight start for Arrieta with Miggy behind the dish. The results were really good against the Cardinals and the Cubs are looking for more of the same tonight.
Chris Coghlan is making his third straight start. Coghlan is in left field and batting seventh behind Addison Russell.
Kris Bryant, Russell and Jason Heyward all return to the starting nine tonight.

Joe Maddon is using a left-handed lineup against Taillon that was telegraphed by the numbers. Left-handers have a .740 OPS against Taillon in the majors this season while hitting .280/.312/.429. Right-handers are batting .243/.275/.422 with a .696 OPS.
The Cubs will begin the game with a bench of David Ross, Willson Contreras, Matt Szczur, Albert Almora Jr., Tim Federowicz, Munenori Kawasaki, Tommy La Stella and Javier Baez.
Jorge Soler is not with the team. The Cubs are hoping he will be able to catch up with them in Cincinnati this weekend.
