Cubs regulars back in lineup for finale with Brewers

Hendricks083016-1The Cubs conclude the four-game series and season series with the Brewers this afternoon (1:20pm CDT) with Kyle Hendricks on the bump against Wily Peralta. And as he said he would Joe Maddon is starting his regulars for the first time since Thursday.

Maddon planned to give a majority of his starters a couple of days off and he did. Kris Bryant started Saturday, playing first base for Anthony Rizzo, and Addison Russell made a couple of pinch-hitting appearances. Maddon stuck with his plan and the Cubs split the two games in which he went with his B-Team.

Dexter Fowler is back at the top of the lineup, Ben Zobrist is in left field with Jason Heyward in right. And Maddon is using an infield of Rizzo, Javier Baez (2B), Addison Russell and Kris Bryant behind Hendricks.

Cubs batting order: Dexter Fowler CF, Kris Bryant 3B, Anthony Rizzo 1B, Ben Zobrist LF, Addison Russell SS, Jason Heyward RF, Miguel Montero C, Javier Baez 2B, Kyle Hendricks P

Miguel Montero is catching Hendricks for his fourth straight start.

Joe Maddon will begin Sunday’s game with a bench of Willson Contreras, David Ross, Tim Federowicz, Jorge Soler, Matt Szczur, Chris Coghlan, Tommy La Stella, Munenori Kawasaki and Albert Almora Jr.
