Addison Russell left Sunday’s game before bottom of fourth with a left heel contusion
Addison Russell took the field for the fourth inning. Russell popped out to short to end the top of the inning. After a visit from the trainer, Russell left the game and was replaced by Javier Baez.
The Cubs announced in the fifth that Russell left the game with a left heel contusion (bruise). Russell was lifted for precautionary reasons. The Cubs said he injured his heel Saturday during his first at-bat of the game when he fouled a ball off his foot. The injury worsened during Sunday’s game.
The Cubs announced following Sunday’s game that Addison Russell is listed as day-to-day.
