Dan Vogelbach named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week
Dan Vogelbach turned a very good week at the plate in the Pacific Coast League into a player of the week honor. Vogelbach was named PCL Player of the Week (May 9-15) on Monday.
Vogelbach was 8-for-24 last week with two doubles, three home runs and seven walks. Vogelbach drove in eight runs, struck out five times. Vogelbach recorded the fourth multiple homer game of his career on May 9.
Dan Vogelbach has hit .330/.430/.548 in 33 games this season with seven doubles and six home runs for a .977 OPS. Vogelbach is 16th in the PCL in batting average (.330), sixth in on-base percentage (.430), 13th in slugging percentage (.548) and sixth in OPS (.977).
Vogelbach leads the Cubs’ minor league system with six home runs.
Dan Vogelbach is the first I-Cubs’ player to earn a weekly award since LHP Eric Jokisch was the Pitcher of the Week last August (Aug. 24-30, 2015). INF Christian Villanueva was the last position player to be named PCL Player of the Week (July 13-19, 2015).
