Jason Vosler named Carolina League Player of the Week

Jason Vosler has made a lot of noise with his bat this season. Vosler has gotten off to a very good start and his performance this past week was recognized Monday by the Carolina League. Jason Vosler was named Carolina League Player of the Week (May 9-15).

Vosler had an excellent week. The 22-year old infielder recorded multiple hits in four of the Pelicans’ six games and hit .391/.440/.739 for the week. Four of Vosler’s nine hits went for extra bases. And in 25 plate appearances, Vosler struck out one time.

In 35 games, Jason Vosler has put together a .331/.400/.463 line with nine doubles, two triples and a home run for a .863 OPS. Vosler has as many walks (15) as strikeouts (15) in 121 at bats.

Jason Vosler leads the Pelicans in batting average (.331), on-base percentage (.400) and OPS (.863) while playing 34 games at third base.

Vosler is among the league leaders in batting average, OBP, slugging percentage and OPS.

The Cubs selected the left-handed hitting infielder in the 16th round of the 2014 draft. In three seasons in the system, Vosler has played all four positions in the infield.
