Cubs-Padres game postponed, make-up scheduled as part of day-night doubleheader Wednesday, May 11
Monday night’s game between the Cubs and Padres has been postponed due to the forecast for inclement weather throughout the remainder of the evening.
Tonight’s game will be made up Wednesday, May 11 as the first game of a split, day-night doubleheader. The make-up game will be played at 12:05pm CDT and will be followed by the regularly scheduled game at 7:05pm CDT.
Separate tickets are required for each game and gates will reopen approximately 90 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Tickets for Monday night’s game will be honored for the 12:05pm CDT game on Wednesday.
Joe Maddon announced Jon Lester will start Tuesday night’s game, weather permitting. Kyle Hendricks will start game one on Wednesday (12:05pm CDT) and John Lackey will pitch the regularly scheduled night game (7:05pm CDT).

Andy Green announced Cesar Vargas will start Tuesday night for the Padres.
Thursday is a scheduled off-day for the Cubs. After three against the Pirates, the Cubs are off Monday before the nine-game, three-city trip through Milwaukee (May 17-19), San Francisco (May 20-22) and St. Louis (May 23-25). The Cubs have May 26 off leading into a 10-game homestand against the Phillies, Dodgers and Diamondbacks.
