Kris Bryant leaves game after rolling right ankle
Updated 5:28pm CDT – Kris Bryant had an MRI on his right ankle. Cubs said Bryant has a mild ankle sprain and will be reevaluated. Bryant’s status is unknown for Friday.
Kris Bryant left Thursday’s game against the Brewers at Wrigley Field in the fifth inning. Javier Baez replaced him in left field prior to the start of the inning.
The Cubs announced Bryant rolled his ankle running the bases in the third inning. Bryant scored from first base on a double to right from Anthony Rizzo.
Bryant is being evaluated by team doctors.
Kris Bryant was hit twice in Thursday game, once near the left elbow and the second time in his lower leg.
The severity of Bryant’s injury is unknown at this point. Bryant played another full inning in the field and batted in the fourth inning before he was replaced by Baez in the field. Bryant was hit by a pitch for a second time in the fourth inning and ran the bases.
