Cubs will not wear alternate gray road jersey this season
The Cubs made a change to what the players will look like outside of Wrigley Field this season. According to a report from Paul Lukas, the Cubs decided to eliminate the alternate gray road jersey.
The Cubs introduced the alternate jersey during the 2014 convention and it was met with mixed reviews. The jersey was part of the team’s year-long celebration of Wrigley Field 100. The Cubs honored 10 different decades over 10 different homestands with ‘Throwback Sunday.’ The throwback home jerseys, for the most part, were a huge hit with the media and fan base.
The alternate road jersey was a throwback to what the team wore on the road in the 1920s, the first full decade at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs continued wearing the alternate road gray jersey last season.
