Cubs lineup for first game of season at Wrigley Field

Maddon041116Joe Maddon posted his lineup for Monday night’s home opener. And Dexter Fowler is back in after getting a breather against Shelby Miller in the finale with the Diamondbacks.

Maddon has Fowler in center, leading off, Jason Heyward in right and Jorge Soler in left. The Cubs infield is Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell and Kris Bryant with David Ross behind the plate catching Jon Lester.

Cubs starting lineup for the home opener Monday night: Dexter Fowler CF, Jason Heyward RF, Kris Bryant 3B, Anthony Rizzo 1B, Ben Zobrist 2B, Jorge Soler LF, Addison Russell SS, David Ross C, Jon Lester P

Reds’ starter Brandon Finnegan has dominated right handed hitters during his time in the majors (28) games. Finnegan has limited righties to a .202/.268/.368 line with a .636 OPS. Left-handers have hit a lot better against him. Lefties have hit .232/.338/.446 with a .446 OPS.

And last season in 20 games, four starts, with the Royals and Reds in the big leagues, left-handers put together a .200/.321/.444 line with a .765 OPS while Finnegan held right-handed hitters to a .222/.298/.397 line with a .695 OPS.
