Albert Almora Jr. Doubles, Homers and Extends Hitting Streak to Six Games

April 21, 2016 1:00 pm By Neil 2 Comments

Albert Almora Jr. extended hitting streak to six games Wednesday

Albert Almora Jr. has picked up in Triple- A where he left off last August with Double-A Tennessee. Almora Jr. went 3-for-4 on Wednesday night and extended his hitting streak to six games. Almora Jr. cracked a double and launched his first Triple-A home run.

Almora Jr. has produced at the plate with Triple-A Iowa. In 11 games, Almora Jr. is 14-for-38 (.368/422/.500) with two doubles and a home run for a .922 OPS. Almora Jr. has 19 total bases with five walks and five strikeouts. And he’s spent a majority of his time, as expected, in center. Almora Jr. has played 10 games in center field and one game in left.

Almora Jr. recorded his second straight three-hit game Wednesday night. And the numbers are rather impressive over his last six games.

Almora Jr. is 11-for-23 with one double, one home run, one walk and two strikeouts.

Albert Almora Jr.’s glove is ready for the majors right now. If he can continue to produce at the plate, the Cubs could have two of the best defenders in baseball in the same outfield.
