Fantasy Baseball Best Rookie Bats 2015 … So Far
By watching the Cubs we know all about rookie bats having good starts to their year. But which rookie bats have put up the most points this season … so far.
- Kris Bryant – 466
- Joc Pederson – 380
- Matt Duffy – 366
- Billy Burns – 313
- Jung Ho Kang – 312
- Odubel Herrera – 306
- Michael Taylor – 297
- Addison Russell – 282
- Mark Canha – 280
- Randal Grichuk – 275
No shockers here as Kris Bryant is leading the way and by a good amount. I have no doubt we could have four players on this list if Jorge Soler would not have lost time to injury and if Kyle Schwarber had more at bats. But there are other rookies that have been useful in fantasy baseball this year. I have owned Kris Bryant, Jung Ho Kang, Michael Taylor and Mark Canha this year, but with rookies sometimes they don’t get consistent playing time and a good rookie for a stretch can be a frustrating guy on your bench.
All should be relevant in next year’s fantasy drafts and leagues.
One thing to note is how much of a lead has over the next guys and yet Bryant has a little over a week missing from starting in the minors. Bryant is leading by 86 points, which if you look at Joc Pederson, he has five players within 86 points of him.

MLB Best of Last Week
Each week we will review the best performances of the week in all of MLB.
Teammates are wild this week as Nolan Arenado and Carlos Gonzalez went off for Colorado while Ryan Zimmerman and Bryce Harper had big weeks for the Nationals (don’t count them out yet). The National League has been good to Yoenis Cespedes, even if opposing pitchers wish he would have stayed in the AL.
Bartolo Colon showed why he has been sticking around in MLB so long. Dallas Keuchel and Clayton Kershaw made claims for their Cy Young candidacy while David Price is working on building his resume for a bigger payday this offseason. And Tyson Ross could be auditioning for other teams as he could get traded this off-season. Maybe we could get two of these five and end up with a Cubs rotation of Price, Arrieta, Lester, Hammel, Ross … hey, this is fantasy baseball, we can dream anything up we want to here.
Chicago Cubs Batters
Back to the power as the Cubs hit 14 home runs this week led by Addison Russell hitting three of them. If you have stockpiled Cubs players for your fantasy playoff run, they could win your week or lose your week by Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo having one of their big weeks at the right time.
Chicago Cubs Pitchers
A team ERA of 3.51 this past week was a better overall week and along with the power being back in the lineup led to a 4-2 week. Jake Arrieta led the staff again and outside of his outing the ERA was 4.06 on the week. As we enter fantasy playoffs, only Arrieta is a must start right now.
