Minor League Baseball announced Monday C/INF Ben Carhart was the Carolina League Player of the Week (Aug. 17-23).
Ben Carhart was 7-for-14 with three home runs and two walks. Carhart drove in eight runs, scored five runs and finished the week with a .500/.529/1.143 slash line. Carhart had a 1.672 OPS.

In 35 games this season for High-A Myrtle Beach, Ben Carhart has hit .260/.329/.464 with nine doubles and six home runs for a .793 OPS.
The Cubs selected the 25-year old Ben Carhart in the 35th round of the 2012 draft.
This is the second full season for Ben Carhart at the High-A level. Carhart played in 112 games for High-A Daytona in 2013. Carhart hit .247/.297/.336 with 27 doubles, a triple and three home runs.
Ben Carhart spent a majority of the 2014 season with Low-A Kane County where he hit .269/.339/.360 with 18 doubles, a triple and five home runs in 102 games. In 115 games combined last year between Low-A Kane County and High-A Daytona, Carhart batted .277/.344/.370 with 23 doubles, a triple and five home runs for a .714 OPS.
