Cubs Announce Legacy Partnership with Toyota, Includes Logo on Wrigley Field Marquee

Cubs and Toyota Announce Legacy Partnership – Toyota Becomes the Official Vehicle of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field

The Cubs and Toyota have announced a long-term Legacy Partnership establishing Toyota as the Official Vehicle of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field.

As part of the extended partnership, Toyota’s logo will be represented on the panel beneath the Wrigley Field Marquee at the corner of Clark and Addison streets. In addition to having a presence below the Wrigley Field Marquee, Toyota continues their presenting sponsorship of in-game manager challenges and umpire reviews, and the company will receive in-game rotational signage behind home plate and on the left field video board. Toyota will receive field-level signage and naming rights to the team’s parking lots surrounding Wrigley Field beginning in the 2016 season.

Print“Toyota is a valued partner who has proudly supported the Chicago Cubs since our family’s first season with the team, and we’re honored to introduce them as a Legacy Partner today,” said Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts in a statement. “Our Legacy Partners play a vital role as we make progress on our long-term goals of winning a World Series, preserving Wrigley Field and being a good neighbor.”

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the Chicago Cubs during such an exciting time for the organization,” said Ed Laukes, Vice President of Marketing, Performance and Guest Experience at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. in a statement. “The future of this team looks brighter than ever and Toyota and our Chicagoland Toyota Dealers value the importance of supporting this great journey for the Cubs and the entire City of Chicago. It’s an honor to deepen our connection as a Legacy Partner and expand our presence inside Wrigley Field and at the corner of Clark and Addison below the historic Wrigley Field Marquee.”

The panel beneath the Wrigley Field Marquee has a history of supporting team and corporate partner initiatives. In the early 1980s, an advertising slogan for Budweiser appeared on the panel in conjunction with the LED board installation. Allstate’s logo was featured while the Marquee was painted purple for the Allstate Wrigleyville Classic college football game hosted by Northwestern University in 2010. As part of the Wrigley Field 100 celebration in 2014, the team added “Celebrating 100 Years” below the Marquee. This season, the lower panel featured “#LetsGo” to support the team’s marketing campaign and will now feature Toyota’s logo.

Toyota’s designation as the Official Vehicle of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field extends as the Official Automobile, Car, Crossover, Minivan and Truck as well.

Toyota becomes the 10th Legacy Partner of the Chicago Cubs, joining Advocate Health Care, American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, ATI Physical Therapy, Nuveen Investments, Sloan Valve Company, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Under Armour and Wintrust.
