The weekend in Milwaukee didn’t exactly go as the Cubs had hoped. After winning Friday and taking the first game, the Cubs were blown out Saturday night and lost in 11 innings on Sunday. The Cubs wrapped up a frustrating seven-game road trip with a 2-5 record.
Kris Bryant and Addison Russell provided the highlights over the last three days, and there were a few rumors, too.

Cubs Make-Up Game with Cardinals Set for July 7
The Cubs announced Thursday afternoon the game with the Cardinals from April 7 that was postponed due to weather had been rescheduled for July 7. The Cubs and Cardinals will play a day-night doubleheader with game one starting at 12:20pm CDT.
Cubs Down on the Farm Report – 05/08/15
Billy McKinney, Charcer Burks and Gleyber Torres stayed hot at the end of the week. And Arismendy Alcantara finally passed Kris Bryant for the home run lead.

Dexter Fowler, Anthony Rizzo, Jorge Soler and Starlin Castro went yard. Jason Hammel settled down after a rough start and allowed only two runs over seven innings. The Cubs didn’t quit tacking on and hustle by Addison Russell and Kris Bryant in the ninth inning ended up being the difference in the game after a bad ninth inning from Hector Rondon.
Baseball America Has Cubs Selecting RHP Carson Fulmer in First Mock Draft
The First-Year Player Draft is less than a month away, the Cubs have the ninth pick and the mock drafts have started surfacing. John Manuel released his first mock draft and he thinks Jason McLeod will take RHP Carson Fulmer from Vanderbilt.

The weekend ended on a sour note for the Cubs after Jason Motte gave up a walk-off single to Martin Maldonado in the 11th inning. Maddon received good outings from Kyle Hendricks, Justin Grimm, Pedro Strop and James Russell, but not from Zac Rosscup. Back-to-back homers off Rosscup in the seventh inning gave the Brewers a lift and a temporary lead.
