MLB Pipeline’s Top 30 Cubs Prospects for 2015

MLB Pipeline released its list of the Top 30 prospects in the Cubs organization Friday shortly after naming the Cubs the best system in the game.

Kris Bryant, MLB Pipeline’s No. 2 prospect in baseball, topped MLB Pipeline’s list. Addison Russell, Jorge Soler, C.J. Edwards and Kyle Schwarber rounded out its top five with Albert Almora, Gleyber Torres, Duane Underwood, Billy McKinney and Pierce Johnson landing in the bottom half of the top 10.

PrintMLB Pipeline also provide a list of the players with the best tools in the system and how the Cubs acquired the top 30 players in the organization.

Best Tools in Cubs System

MLB Pipeline included a Scouting Grade for Future Tools

• Hit: Kyle Schwarber (60)

• Power: Kris Bryant (80)

• Run: Jacob Hannemann (65)

• Arm: Jorge Soler (65)

• Defense: Albert Almora (65)

• Fastball: Duane Underwood (65)

• Curveball: C.J. Edwards (60)

• Slider: Jake Stinnett (60)

• Changeup: Jen-Ho Tseng (55)

• Control: Eric Jokisch (55)

The top 30 players in the Cubs’ system according to MLB Pipeline were added to the organization in the First-Year Player Draft (18), International signings (6) and trades (6). And broken down by position, there are three catchers, one first baseman, three third basemen, two shortstops, seven outfielders, 10 right-handed pitchers and four left-handed pitchers … 16 position players and 14 pitchers.
