The Cubs agreed to 2015 contract terms with all 20 players on their 40-man roster with zero-to-three years of Major League service. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
With the 20 automatic renewal players signed, all of the players on the Cubs roster for the 2015 season are under contract.
The following players agreed to 2015 contract terms:
• Right-handed pitchers: Dallas Beeler, C.J. Edwards, Justin Grimm, Kyle Hendricks, Blake Parker, Neil Ramirez, Hector Rondon and Brian Schlitter
• Left-handed pitchers: Drake Britton, Eric Jokisch, Joseph Ortiz and Zac Rosscup
• Catcher: Rafael Lopez
• Infielders: Arismendy Alcantara, Javier Baez, Tommy La Stella, Mike Olt and Christian Villanueva
• Outfielders: Junior Lake and Matt Szczur
The financial terms of the contracts were not released, and each deal that was agreed to is for one season (2015).
Of the automatic renewal player (0-3 men), Justin Grimm ($505,500), Hector Rondon ($514,000), Mike Olt ($502,000) and Junior Lake ($502,500) agreed to terms for a contract last season (2014) for more than the Major League minimum of $500,000.
Teams can pay automatic renewal players more than the Major League minimum for the given season. When the contract terms are released, the CCO’s 40-man roster page will be updated to reflect those salaries.
