Cubs Release Spring Training Broadcast Schedule

The Cubs released the broadcast schedule for the upcoming exhibition season.

Updated 12:29am CST, Feb. 19 – According to ESPN Chicago, MLB Network will broadcast three Cubs’ Spring Training games: March 11 vs. Dodgers at Sloan Park, March 16 vs. Reds at Sloan Park and April 3 vs. Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

Updated 7:23pm CST, Feb. 9 – Comcast SportsNet telecast for the Cubs-White Sox game on March 20 at Camelback Ranch in Glendale added.

The Cubs are scheduled to broadcast or televise 30 of the team’s 33 Spring Training games on Comcast SportsNet, WGN-TV Ch. 9, WBBM-780 or Cubs.com. The three games not being carried by the Cubs should be available online or on satellite radio with the home team’s announcers calling the game.

Ten of the Cubs games will be televised with seven carried on Comcast SportsNet and three on WGN-TV Ch. 9.

The Cubs new radio partner, WBBM-780 will broadcast eight Spring Training games with Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer calling the action. Tennessee Smokies’ play-by-play man Mick Gillispie and Len Kasper are scheduled to call the balance of the games not available on WBBM-780 on Cubs.com.

Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer make their 2015 debut on March 7 from Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale when the Cubs play the Colorado Rockies.

Comcast SportsNet’s first game of the spring is Friday, March 13 when the Cubs take on the Oakland Athletics at Cashman Field in Las Vegas for the first of two games of the annual ‘Big League Weekend.’ WGN-TV Ch. 9 televises its first game of the year on Sunday, March 15 when the Cubs host the Reds at Sloan Park in Mesa.

PrintLen Kasper and Jim Deshaies will have the call on the games televised by the Cubs.

And ESPN will broadcast the game between the Cubs and Angels from Sloan Park on Thursday, March 26.

The MLB Network has not released its spring schedule which should include live and tape delayed Cubs’ games.

A majority of the Cubs Spring Training games begin at 1:05pm Arizona time. The Cubs first four Spring Training games (through March 7) begin at either 2:05pm CST or 2:10pm CST as noted in the schedule above. Beginning Sunday, March 8, start times are 3:05pm CDT unless noted.
